Rancher/Fedora

The two shapes that do the most work. A rancher and a fedora will carry you from a wedding to a trailhead to a Tuesday, which is why they are the hats most people end up wearing the most.

The difference is the brim. A fedora sits flat, pinched at the crown, with a brim that stays where it is put. A rancher turns its brim up at the sides, which is what gives it that easy Western lean and why it reads more relaxed on. Both share the teardrop crown. Neither is more formal than the other - they just sit differently on a face.

Ours come in wool felt for autumn and winter, and in wheat straw, toyo and raffia for the months when felt is too much. The felt styles are brushed Australian wool, which is softer than a standard felt and behaves better when it travels.
